The Samsung T1 has been touted to have up to a 450MB/s transfer speed while only weighing up to 30g impressive, right? This is backed up by a maximum width of 71mm and a limited 3-year warranty. This represents Samsungs first portable SSD, and aims to serve as another way to make their super speedy VNAND available. So what happens when you Frankenstein both elements into one small and mighty package? Well, you get the Samsung T1 Portable SSD of course, which gives you SSD performance in the roughly the same sized frame as a regular USB flash drive. Key to the appeal of the SSD T1 is that it’s markedly smaller than the otherwise simple alternative of using a normal 2.5-inch SSD with a USB adapter. Today Samsung has lifted the review embargo on their new Portable SSD T1.

In other storage related affairs, SSD or Solid State Drives have been dropping in price too which not only gives consumers an affordable option to their regular old mechanical hard drives, but opens the gateway up to what I consider to be the biggest upgrade to any system ever SSDs are MUCH faster than regular HDDs. It's a bit larger than a thumbdrive, as easy to use, yet has up to 1TB of storage space and, most importantly, delivers unmatched.

This year Samsung has doubled storage capacity. Users will struggle to find a drive offering such capacities and delivering such performance. The Samsung Portable SSD T1 is a one-of-kind portable drive. The T3 is the follow up to last year’s T1 Portable SSD, which offered 1TB of storage space for 600. In this day and age, it would be very surprising to me if the majority of computer users didn’t own at least a USB flash drive for their portable storage needs the market has boomed over recent years with super high capacity drives being available at fairly affordable prices. Desktop, internal SSDs are notably cheaper than this but the overriding feature with T1 is that it is portable. The T3 leverages Samsungs V-NAND technology and comes in a generous 2TB capacity (which is double the size of its ultra portable SSD T1 a year ago) to suit the needs of media professionals and enthusiasts who deal with a ton of storage.
